The story of Emmett Till may be 70 years old, but it still carries the reminder of what Black people endured in the Jim Crow South. "It's obviously a tough story, and a lot of us know it already, but some of us don't know all the details," Minnetrista Museum & Gardens CEO Brian Statz says. An exhibit in Muncie, Indiana, tells the story of how the 14-year-old was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by white supremacists and his mother's demand for the world to see what had been done to her child, whose death became a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement.
