Obamacare premiums are climbing again—and the latest numbers expose the inevitable failure of a government-designed healthcare system. Early filings from 77 insurers show a median proposed premium increase of 14 percent for 2027. That follows a 20 percent median increase for 2026 and marks the fifth straight year of rising costs. The benchmark silver premium—the figure used to calculate federal subsidies—jumped roughly 25 percent this year. Insurers say the remaining Obamacare population is becoming smaller and sicker as healthier people leave the exchanges. Enrollment reportedly dropped by about three million, creating the same predictable insurance spiral conservatives warned about from the beginning: higher costs drive out…Open

The Trump Justice Department is stepping up enforcement against non-citizen voting, reporting roughly two dozen arrests, prosecutions or convictions in recent months, with nearly 90 additional cases reportedly under investigation. Federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections, and Justice Department officials say election administrators could also face prosecution if they knowingly help ineligible voters register or cast ballots. The department has sent notices to officials in all 50 states, warning that knowingly retaining non-citizens on voter rolls or assisting them in voting could constitute aiding and abetting a federal crime. States were reportedly given five days to explain how they are complying with…Open
CNN featured a statement about Republican Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell from a parody X account, apparently believing it was made by a real congressman. Wednesday’s episode of “CNN This Morning” displayed the satirical account’s quote side by side with similar comments about McConnell’s current health situation from spokespersons for Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Majority Whip John Barrasso and conservative commentator Scott Jennings. “I spoke to my old friend Mitch McConnell this morning, the senior Senator from Kentucky. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 45 minutes,” read Kimble’s Tuesday X post — which CNN featured on the Wednesday morning segment. Host Audie Cornish appeared…Open

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh on Tuesday morning will speak on the state of the U.S. economy before the House Financial Services Committee. The hearing comes as President Trump has seen his approval rating decline over rising affordability concerns and pocketbook pressures sparked by the ongoing war with Iran. Warsh earlier this month sought to downplay inflation fears but offered no hints on the upcoming interest rate decision. In June, the Fed held interest rates steady at his first meeting since taking the reins of the central bank from former chair Jerome Powell. The next forum is scheduled for July 29. #kevinwarsh #federalreserve #houseofrepresentatives
