US President Donald Trump threatened today to attack Oman if it interferes with US efforts in the Strait of Hormuz, as the conflict with Iran continues and a two-month window for peace talks expires without a clear path to end the war. Trump’s comments come as the 60-day window for peace talks between the US and Iran, agreed to in June, closed Monday without any concrete plans announced for the war to end. Ironically, the Syrian judge who sentenced President Bashar al-Assad to death in absentia last week was himself sentenced to death by the same regime years earlier.
