Canada’s retaliatory tariffs on $27.6 billion in American products took effect on Tuesday, marking the latest escalation in an ongoing trade fight between the U.S. and its northern neighbor. The economic policies impose 15 percent, 25 percent and 50 percent tariffs on around 6 percent of what the U.S. exported to Canada last year. Iran’s Houthi allies in Yemen attacked Saudi oil infrastructure late Monday or early Tuesday, pushing up oil prices already elevated from the regional war’s constriction of energy flows. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemnation of the attacks said that 73 civilians, including women and children, had been injured in the strikes on Abha, Khamis Mushait, Najran, and Jazan.
