How do the allegations in Jane Doe's civil lawsuit differ from the information provided in her initial sworn statement to the campus police?
While the civil suit filed by Jane Doe alleges she was drugged and raped at the Chi Phi house in October 2024, the District Attorney reported that her November 2024 sworn statement did not allege she was drugged against her will or gang raped. Instead, the DA stated her statement described her participation in drug use and sexual conduct as "voluntary, conscious, and consensual," and that she at one point stated "none of the sexual stuff was illegal."

What were the specific Title IX outcomes reported by Cornell regarding the individuals accused in the fraternity incident?
Cornell disclosed that the Title IX outcomes resulted in a split: two men were expelled, two were suspended for at least two semesters (one of whom had already graduated), and two were found not responsible for sexual misconduct. These results were determined by campus tribunals, which use different standards than criminal courts.

Who was appointed as the special prosecutor for the Cornell fraternity rape investigation, and what was the context of this appointment?

Why did Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten reopen the investigation into the allegations made by Jane Doe?
District Attorney Matthew Van Houten reopened the case after discovering that he never received the full transcript of Jane Doe’s two-day November 2024 campus police interview. He stated he had only received a six-page sworn statement drawn from that interview, which led to the reopening of the investigation to address the gap in the paper trail.
