The U.S. Embassy in Iraq was struck by a missile Saturday, with no reported injuries, several outlets reported. The missile attack destroyed the embassy’s air defense system, an Iraqi security source told Al Jazeera. The Associated Press also reported that the missile struck a helipad inside the compound, located within central Baghdad's fortified International Zone. Agence France-Presse, however, reported that the attack was from a drone strike. The embassy issued an alert following the attack, urging American citizens in Iraq to leave immediately.
