Team members assigned to the Defense Health Agency's Warfighter Readiness, Performance and Brain Health initiative hosted an end user touchpoint at Camp Lejeune, N.C., to assess new capabilities for evaluating traumatic brain injuries on the battlefield.
Airmen must push through a demanding 28-day qualification course to become one of the Phoenix Ravens, a force tasked with safeguarding aircraft, personnel and critical assets in austere locations where threats may be elevated or unpredictable.
The multi-week course brings together XCOMM special operators across active duty, guard and reserve wings to develop the skills and knowledge needed to set-up and operate communication systems in any environment. The training includes use of austere-like conditions and specialized AFSOC communications equipment to build their familiarity and proficiency as tactical communicators.
The exercise is designed to test Airmen’s ability to rapidly deploy, sustain operation and generate airpower in simulated austere environments.
