David Maxwell was among the staffers in the Texas attorney general’s office who accused Ken Paxton of abusing the power of his office, allegations that led to his impeachment. Mr. Paxton was acquitted.
The lawyer, Dan Cogdell, helped save Mr. Paxton from criminal charges and an impeachment, but now he says the Texas attorney general has “lost sight of his mission.”
Dan Cogdell, who successfully defended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during his 2023 impeachment trial and securities fraud case, said Paxton is more focused on serving President Donald Trump than Texans.
