A pilot died Friday after two glider planes collided in the air over Edinburg, New York, and one aircraft crashed into a remote, wooded area, leaving investigators with no clear explanation for how the collision happened. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. over the small town about 20 miles north of Saratoga Springs, New York State Police reported . One of the two gliders managed to land safely at Plateau Sky Ranch Airport. The second went down in a remote area, and searchers who reached the wreckage found the pilot dead at the scene.
