The Pentagon confirmed Tuesday that Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, is the third American soldier killed in Iran's attack on a U.S. base in Jordan, bringing the war's toll to 18 service members dead. Rampersad had been listed as missing in action since Iranian forces struck Muwaffaq Salti Air Base on Friday. An unidentified body was recovered at the base, and after investigation, the Defense Department changed her status to "believed to be deceased." She served with the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, based in Ansbach, Germany, the same unit as Pvt.
