The Pentagon on Monday identified the two American soldiers killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan over the weekend as 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales. A second service member suffered minor injuries and remains under medical care.
The service members were aiding in the defense against Iranian drone and missile attacks in Jordan.
The military said the incident took place Friday while CENTCOM and "partner forces" defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. The identities of the fallen and missing service members have not been disclosed.
