President Trump was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday night to rally for Senate hopeful Darline Graham. Trump brough Darline back on stage to say a few words during his remarks. "His friendship with Lindsey, meant so much to Lindsey, you were one of his closest friends, I hope you know that," Darline said. "You will forever be part of the Graham family for that." Following Lindsey Graham’s death, his sister Darline Graham was appointed to fill his vacant U.S. Senate seat and serve out the remainder of his term and is now running to retain the seat for the next term. Several prominent Republicans from the Palmetto State joined Trump for his rally, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Rep. Russel Fry (R-SC).
The president backs Graham’s sister, but each contender in South Carolina’s Senate primary has found themselves out of step with him in some way, and a runoff is likely.
