James Brass managed a team of signature collectors and used registered California voters’ identities to manufacture fraudulent petition signatures. Hailey Gomez, an investigative reporter representing O’Keefe Media Group, was inside the courtroom for Brass’ initial appearance. Brass pleaded not guilty, a $10,000 appearance bond was set, with his wife expected to sign the affidavit.
