NEW YORK, NY — As part of its ongoing effort to modify the game and update it to improve the accuracy of its officiating, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday that it was instituting a new rule where batters could challenge the umpire to a duel.
The United States Postal Service is considering a rule change that would allow anyone to send handguns through the mail for the first time in nearly 100 years.
The rule, which had gone into effect without prior notice, was quickly condemned by veterans groups as effectively lowering a veteran’s disability rating.
Veterans groups had warned that the change would have disadvantaged veterans who need medication.
The new rule states that a disability level must be based on how well a veteran functions while on medication and not on the underlying impairment.
