New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani convened a three-day international summit of mayors focused on housing, climate, and immigration, but kept nearly every session closed to the press and refused to disclose where the meetings took place. Mamdani delivered opening remarks Saturday at the Urban 20 Summit, a gathering that drew 25 mayors and city leaders representing 34 cities worldwide. Only "select media" were permitted to attend those remarks, and the New York Post reported it was excluded from the approved list. The location of the opening session was not disclosed to the public.
