A new 5,500-word Vanity Fair profile claims Usha Vance "built" her husband into a vice president, but the magazine never spoke to her, and the framing says far more about coastal condescension than about the Vance family. The profile, assembled from unnamed Yale Law School classmates and friends of the couple, paints the 40-year-old second lady as the hidden architect of JD Vance's rise from Marine veteran and law student to senator to vice president.
