An off-duty employee at a federal immigration detention center in Aurora, Colorado, was arrested after allegedly shooting a woman in the ankle following a confrontation with protesters outside the facility Thursday night. Aurora police booked the unnamed man on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and additional charges. The victim, 21-year-old Emma Landis, sustained injuries to her right ankle that police said were not life-threatening.
