Joe Anderson, Englewood’s mayor pro tem and a two-term city council member, died after collapsing while hiking Quandary Peak in Colorado, a loss city officials called “tremendous” for the community he served. Anderson, 45, was hiking Quandary Peak, a 14,271-foot summit in Colorado’s Tenmile Range, when he collapsed on the lower slopes Friday morning. Fellow hikers performed CPR until Summit County sheriff’s deputies and first responders arrived, but Anderson could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
