The SEC is weighing LSU’s conference membership as a federal court fight over players with NFL experience threatens a founding member’s place. The SEC’s school presidents and chancellors will meet Thursday to discuss whether LSU should remain in the conference. The dispute centers on a league rule that bars teams from returning players with NFL experience to their rosters. LSU helped found the Southeastern Conference in 1933, but that history does not end the dispute. Removing the school would require support from at least two-thirds of the conference’s CEOs.
