Smith, who was the high school classmate of Alex Murdaugh’s surviving son, Buster, died in 2015 after his body was found in the middle of a road 15 miles from the Murdaugh family estate. Dr. Kenny Kinsey, a forensic expert hired by Smith's family, is pouring cold water on the idea that Smith was intentionally killed.
