Judicial Watch has filed a federal lawsuit accusing California of failing to maintain clean and accurate voter rolls as required by the National Voter Registration Act. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Orange County Supervisor and secretary of state candidate Don Wagner, along with the American Independent Party of California. It names California Secretary of State Shirley Weber in her official capacity. Judicial Watch says California has allowed 873,092 inactive voter registrations to remain on the rolls through at least three federal elections.
