The latest: U.S. District Judge Philip Brimmer, a George W. Bush appointee, sided with Colorado in dismissing the DOJ's case against the Democratic secretary of state with prejudice Monday. - The administration argued that provisions in the Civil Rights Act of 1960 gave the attorney general "sweeping power" to obtain the sought-after…

The White House has released declassified details of a covert FBI investigation, codenamed "Oxferd Comma", that probed whether President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey at Russia's direction, even as the bureau's own evidence was already pointing the other way. An administration official disclosed Wednesday that the investigation, opened after Trump dismissed Comey in May 2017, operated as a subcomponent of the broader Crossfire Hurricane probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. FBI agents marked the case "sensitive" and described it internally as "the least intrusive method to address a serious national security risk." The premise: that the President of the United States might be acting on…Open

A 21-year-old flight instructor with 1,300 hours of experience glided a failing aircraft under highway signage and onto a busy Pensacola interstate after losing her engine mid-lesson, a landing one trucker called a "miracle." Emily Shelton was conducting a flight lesson with a student pilot on his very first outing when she smelled oil fumes filling the cockpit. The oil pressure gauge had dropped into the red. Within moments, the engine quit entirely, and Shelton found herself managing a dead aircraft over one of Florida's busiest east-west corridors, Interstate 10 near Pensacola. Her radio calls to air traffic control, captured in audio reviewed by The Sun , trace the emergency in real time. Shelton reported the oil pressure failure,…Open
