During a White House Rose Garden event on Thursday, First Lady Melania Trump announced a new initiative for young adults transitioning out of foster care in the United States. As part of its "Fostering the Future" initiative, the White House is partnering with IndyCar, Fox Corporation, Indiana University and Purdue University to provide scholarships, and expand academic and career opportunities for those in foster care. This announcement comes as the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix race is set to take place in Washington, D.C. this weekend.
