An NBC news helicopter covering a fatal bus collision in Los Angeles crashed Tuesday night, killing the two crew members aboard and a bystander on the ground, while a fellow NBC reporter on the scene realized in real time that his colleagues were inside. Robert Kovacik, an NBC4 reporter, was broadcasting live from the Chatsworth neighborhood when the station's NewsChopper4 suddenly lost altitude and plunged into a parking lot at the intersection of Nordhoff Street and DeSoto Avenue.
