A British dive team spent five years combing archives to locate the wreck of HMS Tiger, a Royal Navy warship that sank in 1908 and killed more than half its crew, and the discovery is now driving new legislation to protect military shipwrecks. ProjectXplore, a volunteer dive group led by organizers Leo Fielding and Dan McMullen, announced on August 10 that it had found the remains of HMS Tiger on the seabed off the Isle of Wight, the same stretch of English Channel where the warship went down after colliding with the 10,000-ton HMS Berwick 118 years ago.
