On Tuesday, local officials in Nevada provided an update on the fast-moving Hawk Fire, which has scorched more than 15,000 acres near Reno. During a news conference, officials said the fire was 27% contained, with 816 personnel working to contain it. The wildfire has forced tens of thousands of residents to evacuate and destroyed dozens of homes.

The human-caused Hawk Fire northwest of Reno, Nevada, has burned more than 15,000 acres and reached 27% containment as firefighters successfully halt its southern advance. The blaze so far has destroyed 32 homes, damaged six others and caused at least seven injuries, including three first responders.
