The human-caused Hawk Fire northwest of Reno, Nevada, has burned more than 15,000 acres and reached 27% containment as firefighters successfully halt its southern advance. The blaze so far has destroyed 32 homes, damaged six others and caused at least seven injuries, including three first responders. Governor Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency for Washoe County, where roughly 23,000 residents remain under mandatory evacuation orders and another 40,000 are under evacuation warnings.
