The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Monday that it would be creating a $1.776 billion fund for allies of the Trump administration “who suffered weaponization and lawfare” under the Biden administration. The fund arises out of a deal struck between the DOJ and the Trump family, whereby the Trump family would drop their $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS for the leaking of their tax returns in exchange for the creation of the fund––from which they will receive no monetary payments––and a formal apology.
