President Donald Trump said that he canceled strikes on Iran scheduled for Tuesday at the request of Gulf states, as a ceasefire to the Iran War entered its 42nd day. In a Monday Truth Social post , Trump said he had “been asked by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to hold off” on an attack, adding that “serious negotiations are now taking place” with Iran. Iran said Tuesday that it would open “new fronts” if the U.S. and Israel resume attacks.
