The conditions at DHS’ family detention center in Dilley, Texas are infamously horrific: reports of worms in the food, unsafe drinking water and unsanitary conditions. Potable food, water and other basic necessities are available at the commissary, but for wildly inflated prices. Casey Revkin, a California Mom, refused to let that be acceptable and founded the non-profit ‘Each Step Home’ to send money to families detained at Dilley so they could provide the basics for themselves and their children. Each Step Home’s work currently supports 67 families and about 80 children.
