Jennifer Finch, the bassist and vocalist who helped define the sound of L7 across three decades of punk and alternative rock, has died at the age of 59 following a fight with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her family announced her death on her Instagram page, calling her impact on music "seismic." Finch joined L7 in 1986 and contributed bass and vocals on five of the band's seven albums. She was also a photographer, visual artist, and member of several other projects, including the Shocker, Sugar Babylon, and Other Star People, the last of which placed music on television shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
